New Voices Campaign

Grassroots Initiative is leading an unprecedented effort to attract, encourage and assist first-time candidates to fill more than 14,000 vacant elected offices in New York City.

The New Voices Campaign challenges the stigma attached to political involvement and opens the door for everyday people to enter elected office through large-scale public awareness campaigns in print, broadcast and online media; mentorship arrangements that harness the knowledge of experienced political officials; and practical help navigating the road to election.
