In 2006, Grassroots Initiative launched Fighting Prejudice with Votes -- a bold new documentary and public awareness effort designed to change the way that we think about elected office and political representation. In its inaugural campaign, Grassroots Initiative teamed up with Brooklyn-based photographer Sarah Tew to document the election of the first-ever Sikhs in New York.
